I guess there has be to always one negative review and that seems to be mine. I did not enjoy my stay at Lee Gardens. The reception staff were cold and did not even greet me. Not once during the check-in did they smile or even LOOK at me. They just simply barked "credit card" and "sign this" and handed me my room card without even telling me what room number I was in or how to get to it. The rooms are OK but the overall experience must be nice in hotel.
I never felt welcomed. Secondly is the neighbourhood. The hotel is flanked on all sides by brothels and even the massage center inside the hotel is a brothel. I wanted to get a massage but could not get a proper one because they only wanted to give in-room "special" massages.
Overall, I did not like this place or Hat Yai as a whole. Seedy place for seedy people. I stayed in this hotel during my first night in thailand, on the 22nd and 25th of February specifically. Both times I stayed I was unimpressed with the hotel on many levels. Many bus operators including consortium also offload and pickup passengers here. Parking your vehicle in this hotel will be a major hassle if you drive. The basement carpark is very tight and reverse parking only.
Furthermore, police will use metal detectors to scan your car upon entry. I was stopped and my entire car searched simply because they mistook my reverse camera for a cctv spycam - absolutely uncalled for.
There are two sets of lifts in this hotel. The first three lifts ply the carpark, ground level, and lobby, which is on the 10th floor of the hotel. These lifts are extremely slow and take up to 10 minutes to arrive. The second connects the lobby with the room floors and the skybuffet level on the 33rd floor. The lobby was expansive and had a large view of the city of hat yai through big windows.
